Week_4

To be honest, I am getting confused of the endless amazing tools…just don’t know where to start…

I had a gut feeling that we would all be a fan of http://photofunia.com/  . This tool can be used in the classroom and cause the students so much excitement! (I am a student and I am excitedJ ). Here are my gorgeous daughters: http://photofunia.com/results/563830b001640019bc8b458d.

I thought of different ideas of how to use this tool. For example: pictures can be placed in different places for teaching how to describe where each family member is placed (on the very right/left  side is..., next to, above …) places can be changed and it's really fun for students to see themselves or others moving easily from place to place. In case you don’t understand what I mean: http://photofunia.com/categories/all_effects/five_paintings

I found other tools very effective too and immediately saved their links in my bookmark list. In fact, the site: https://pixabay.com/  for some reason couldn’t be placed in a chosen tile in Symbaloo….don't know why. Since I liked it very much, I saved it on my bookmark bars. It provides amazing pictures, illustrations and videos in various subjects. Worth checking out…

  1. I loved PhotoFunia too! I hadn't given much thought to how to use it, but your observation about the Five Paintings configuration seems good for teaching prepositions. I bookmarked Pixabay but hadn't looked at it closely. I plan to use pictures a lot when I teach, and they had some beautiful ones! Thanks for calling my attention to that particular site.

  2. I really like Pixabay too! I always find it so frustrating when all the pictures on Google Images have words across them,. Although there are plenty with words on Pixabay, there are also plenty without. It's such a good resource for finding pictures!

  3. Hi, Ronit.
First of all, I really liked you and your daughter's picture. Second of all, you have really good and interesting ideas of how to work with the class by using these sites and more. I like the pixabay site, although it's a lot like searching on googles for pictures and images. Many times, when I wanted to use pictures for my lessons or asked my students to come up with a picture regarding a subject we had learned, it was really difficult to not only find exactly what we want, but also pasting it on a word document or printing it was, sometimes impossible. On this site, it's much more easier, both searching and using it.
